Good afternoon, friends!

Erice
When Aeneas's ships, after many vicissitudes at sea, reached Drepanon, which means 'sickle' because the promontory extends out to sea in that shape, they landed in that territory. It is today's Trapani.
The Trojan women, shaken and traumatised by the danger of the sea, resist leaving. A large group of Trojans choose to settle there.
Peacefully they united with the Elemians, inhabitants of those territories, and became one population.
Erice was, for Drepanon, an observatory on the sea, 750 metres above sea level. Famous is the Temple of Venus.
Also well known is the Ettore Maiorana Centre, founded by the good scientist Antonino Zichichi, where scientists from all over the world meet.

Erice, the top of the town.
Nineties

It was not painted from life, with naturalistic colours, but evoked with memory.
The style is airy, a gust of wind, a beautiful memory!
